Quick Start Packages

You need a blog, you know you need one, but you’re a little freaked out by the prospect of doing it yourself. And the alphabet soup you keep reading about just doesn’t make it any more friendly… FTP? MySQL? PHP? BBQ? What? 

If installing WordPress is a daunting prospect, I can do it for you.

There are two different options with the Quick Start Package:

1. Just the Basics:
   I’ll install your blog, add your web-ready logo to the header of the default theme and install basic must-have plugins to enhance your WordPress experience. $97 Buy Now
2. Beyond the Basics:
   In addition to everything in “Just the Basics” I’ll include two 30-minute training sessions. $197 Buy Now

Give me more details, please!

1. In both packages, I’ll install the latest version of WordPress.
2. I’ll also install six basic WordPress plugins that I find most useful and that are installed on every single one of my sites:
   • Google XML Sitemaps: make your site play nice with search engines
   • WordPress.com stats: so you can see how many people are visiting
   • Contact Form 7: easy contact form so people can get in touch with you
   • Login Lockdown: prevents brute-force hacking of your admin
   • WP-DB-Backup: automatic backups of your database sent to your email
   • All in One SEO Pack: gives you finer control over individual pages (and overall) titles, descriptions and keywords.
3. Using the Default Theme (TwentyTen), I’ll add your web-ready logo to the header of your WordPress site. “Web-ready” means it’s been optimized for the web and saved as a .jpg, .gif, or .png. *These packages do not include graphic design*

Is there anything else I should know?

Both packages require that:

1. You don’t already have a self-hosted blog.
2. You don’t already have a web host.
3. You’re willing to follow my suggestions as to which host to use.

When you pay for the package you want, you’ll get redirected to a page that will give you instructions on what to do next, including suggestions for a web host.

What if I already have a web host?
I can still help, but I’ll have to ask you a few questions first, and the package cost may be more than above, depending on several factors including what host you’re using. Please use the form at the end of this page to let me know who your web host is and what service you’d like.

Why should I hire you to do this for me?

If you have endless free time and a technical mind that grasps all kinds of programs and knows what FTP & MySQL actually mean, by all means, go for it yourself.

But if you have a business to run, clients to serve and clients to get, chances are you don’t have the time to learn how to do this yourself.

And unless you’re wired for “geek,” my guess is that you’d get frustrated and ticked off and want to toss your cat out the window trying to get a grasp of it all.

Which is why, as a microbusiness owner, you should get help for things that aren’t your strengths and save your brainpower and energy on the things you’re awesome at. And that may not include web stuff.
